Description:

The Jin'Ao (金鰲) pailau on the Beihai bridge in Peking. This was demolished together with many other historic archways in 1955 when the bridge and many roads were widened to improve traffic flow. To the left is a narrow gauge portable 'Decauville' railway track ending abruptly which was part of the Emperor's "Peihai" palace railway. (A2/31).
