Peking’s city walls breached adjacent to Yung Ting Men (Yongdinmen 永定门) to allow the railway to be extended into the city and to a new station adjacent to the Temple of Heaven. This work was carried out by the foreign troops’ railway engineers during 1901. (A6/127)
