This is a town plan of Macao with buildings represented geometrically with the most important ones shaded and named. The map was made in the final year of World War II by the Inter-service Topographical Department which was a a joint British Army and Navy organization created during the War that was responsible for supplying topographic intelligence for all combined operations and for preparing reports in advance of military operations overseas. For this reason on the map shows the position of the forts, hospitals, street blocks, and even gives information on transportation, water features and vegetation. The most detailed information is of the city while the reclamation land and the northeast part of the Peninsula remain almost blank.
