This image was a copperplate print engraved by La Perouse when his fleet arrived in Macao, depicting the landscape overlooking the Franciscan Monastery (now S. Francisco Garden) to Praia Grande. The Chapel of Our Lady of Penha, St. Lawrence’s Church and Mount Fortress can be seen clearly on the map.The tall hills in the background stand on wan chai on the opposite side of the inner harbor.
