Note: 
John Speed was the best known English mapmaker of his time. He started mapmaking late in life, producing his first maps when he was almost 60 years old. This particular map depicts the Iberian Peninsula providing good detail and being one of the most visually appealing 17th century maps of Spain and Portugal. The map is headed by depictions of nine of the most important Iberian cities and sided by the provincial attires of man and women of León, Castela, Biscaia, Portugal and Granada.

Note: 
Original is a copperplate printed map colored by hand, 37 x 46 cm. The map is headed with nine oval views of the most important Iberian cities, Madrid, Seville, Lisbon, Valladolid, Granada, Toledo, Barcelona, Burgos and Cadiz. And on each side of the map there are six depictions of the different attires used in different regions with the men on the left and the women on the right. Title in strap work cartouche sided by cross-staffs and with a protractor on the bottom. On the Mediterranean Sea can be seen a sail ship. There is a 16-point compass rose on the map with a fleur de lis indicating north and a cross on the east point. It is colored red, blue and yellow.
