Note:
This map has Japan as its main body, however this is an important map for it is one of the first maps depicting Korea as a peninsula as opposed to an island. Part of China with the Great Wall can also be spotted on the left upper corner of the map. The islands of Japan are depicted in the Teixeira type, more horizontal than vertical which was common map convention of the time. Dotted lines separate political divisions, with each province labeled. Mountains speckle the landscape, suggesting the hilly terrain of the archipelago. On the upper right corner of the map a landmass is peeking out, which is Hokkaido still name 'Eso'. The Christian communities in Japan are marked with a cross on the stylized buildings and two volcanic islands are shown with smoke.
