Note:
This is a manuscript map on an extensive area of China, Mongolia and Russia. The map extends the Laptev Sea (Mare Glaciale) up north and the Caspian Sea (Mare Caspium) on the south in the west to Beijing (Regia Pekin) in the east. Roughly on the center of the map it can be seen the Baikal Lake (Lacus Baicala) and big 'florest' (Silvae extensae usque ad mare Glaciale). Lake Baikal is a rift lake located in southern Siberia, Russia, and is the largest freshwater lake by volume in the world. Baikal is the world's deepest lake and it is the seventh-largest lake in the world by surface area. On the bottom right corner of the map can be seen part of the Great Wall of China. Some major cities are marked along the route.
