This is a manuscript map divided in two. The upper map is the route from the city of Astrakhan (Astracan) in Southern Russia until the city of Catay whic, according to the notes on the map, is only 10 days away from Khanbaliq (Cambalu), the winter capital of the Yuan dynasty, the main center of the Mongol Empire founded by Kublai Khan in what is now Beijing. The map on the bottom is mainly made from the Ramusio's text prints. The journey starts in Tabriz (Tauris) untill Campion ville, (also known as Kanchau or Kanchow, i.e. Zhangye). Both maps present scale lines in travel days and have many annotations on the cities and its inhabitants.
