This is a manuscript map depicting part of Siberia, Russia. The map covers a great area, extending from Beijing (Pequin) in the south to the Laptev Sea (Mare Tartarium) up north. The major focus are on the river courses and the location os lakes, with Baikal Lake (Barcau lacus). The informative note on the left bottom corner of the map it is given the positional grade of the city of Tobolsk (Tobol) a town in Tyumen Oblast, Russia, on the left upper corner of the map, and of Beijing. Tobolsk is the second-oldest Russian settlement east of the Ural Mountains in Asian Russia, and is a historic capital of the Siberia region.
