This is a the earliest engraved view of the coast line of the city of Hanoi, Vietnam. There are several buildings and somewhat careful depiction of fauna and flora. The harbor is busy with both vessels and people, on water can be seen 36 vessels, five of them being galleys rowed by indigenous people. On land there are marked the King's Arsenal House and elephants stables as well as the English Factory with the flag of England, and the Dutch factory with their own flag. On the bottom left corner there is also a representation of a sandy bay with a celebration of a 'Thecky daw' a ceremony believed to scare away ghosts and evil spirits.
