The map details the mouth of the Chiang River in the Fujian Province and covers part of the city of Fuzhou on the southeastern coast of China just west of Taiwan. On the map are marked towns, fortifications, islands, bridges, rivers and mountains. Several coastal features are noted such as shoals and banks, as well as depth soundings revealing the nautical use of the map. The Bay depicted no longer exists today as the coast line changed drastically.
Original is a copperplate printed map in the 'Le petit atlas maritime: recueil de cartes et plans des quatre parties du monde'.
There is a 4-point compass rose on the map with a fleur-de-lis indicating north. Rhumb lines for the principal winds are bold.
Map oriented with West at the top.
Title inside scroll work cartouche.
Scale line underneath the title in black and white interchangeably.
Relief shown pictorially and bathymetric relief by soundings.
Landmasses outlined in green.
