This chart extends from Leizhou Peninsula to Dongshan County centered on the mouth of the Pearl River, Macau and Hong Kong. Xiangshan is depicted as an island but it is named 'Maccao' with the city, marked with an early Portuguese flag, correctly marked on the southeast peninsula. Guangzhou (Kanton) is marked up north and other important landmarks are present on the chart, as well as some details to aid in navigation. The position of some of the islands is still very lacking and not close to reality, specially if compared to Portuguese charts of the same period. However, it proves the interest the French had the in the area and their efforts to map it.
