This map comes to substitute the place of the famous map of Álvarez Seco (fl. ca. 1559-1561), the first known map of the kingdom of Portugal since 1561 and that distributed all over Europe. The inland area is very detailed and accurate, even when compared to today's territory, while the sea area is lacking.

Title inside banderole sided by the coats of arms of Spain on the left and of Portugal on the right. On the Atlantic Ocean and Mediterranean Sea can be seen 21 vessels and a sea monster. There is an 8-point compass rose on the map with a fleur-de-lis indicating north.
